Summer Season 2010: Another Season of SONG, DANCE & LAUGHTER

NUNSET BOULEVARD:

New England Premiere

NUNSET BOULEVARD - The storyline puts the Sisters in Hollywood thinking they are to perform at the Hollywood Bowl. Only it turns out to be the Hollywood Bowl-A-Rama, a local bowling alley. When the Sisters find out there is a screen test for a major film happening across the street they are certain this is their chance for movie stardom. Featuring songs like: The Hollywood Blondes, That Kid's Gonna Make It, and Bowling Ball Blues, this looks like the latest in a long line of "Nunsense" successes.

THE PRODUCERS

Mel Brook’s side-splitting, award-winning comedy The Producers. Considered one of the funniest musicals ever to grace the stage, the comical story follows down-and-out producer Max Bialystock who decides the only way to make any money out of showbiz is to produce the worst musical ever, get it financed and then run-off with the leftovers once the show has flopped. Alongside the worst director they can find, Max and his hapless accountant set about producing Broadway’s newest show: Hitler – The Musical!

ANNIE

Family Theatre at it's Best!

Leapin’ lizards! Annie is coming to the Arundel Barn Playhouse! The timeless tale of Little Orphan Annie is back, giving a whole new generation the chance to experience this classic musical about never giving up hope. Boasting one of Broadway’s most memorable scores, including “It’s the Hard-Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “N.Y.C.” and the ever-optimistic “Tomorrow,” Annie is a delightful theatrical experience for the entire family. Don’t miss this all-new production that Variety calls “a winner!”

SHOUT!  THE MOD MUSICAL

Just when you think you're safe from jukebox musicals, another one comes along. This week's questionable entry is Shout!, which calls itself "the mod musical" because it rounds up songs or song snippets associated with such English songbirds of the 1960s as Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, and Lulu. Take it from someone who was there, this 90-minute revue is no mod musical; rather, it resembles a weaker version Hullabaloo and other gone-but-not-forgotten TV variety hours of the era.

FORBIDDEN BROADWAY'S GREATEST HITS

Let's pay tribute to the big shows and bigger legends in this hilarious, loving and endlessly entertaining revue. It's time to revisit, and laugh with some of your favorite shows: Annie ("I'm 30 Years Old, Tomorrow"), Hairspray ("You Can't Stop the Camp"), West Side Story ("Chita/Rita America"), A Chorus Line ("What I Did For Laughs"), Les Misérables ("On My Phone") and more. It's the greatest, it's the funniest and it's the hottest celebration in town!
